Human and divine

For a very long time, I hid my magical self from the public, keeping different parts of myself in separate boxes: the immigrant, the wife, the daughter, the corporate professional, the mystic, the empowered one and so on.

Depending on the occasion, I’d let the general public see one or more of them, but the one that always hidden was the mystical, magical Manu. “What will people think of me?” The fear of coming across as too “woo woo” was always a concern. Funny enough, in one of my jobs, my teammates used to say I had this “Manu magic” in the way I did my work. So even when I tried to hide it, it still seeped through in all my interactions.

It was exhausting to maintain all these different versions of myself just to fit into a world that only seemed to reward the most socially acceptable ones. To only later realize that I am all of these parts. And when I show up wholly, it is the strongest Manu I have ever experienced.

So with that said, what I want to share is this: there is magic in the work that you do and in the life that you live, because YOU ARE magic! Forever divine while temporary human.

I hope this note helps you remember.

With love,
