How I work with Reiki
The first time I experienced Reiki was during a Yoga Nidra workshop. I had no idea what to expect, but I was excited to try! Since then, I went on learning first just thinking about helping myself, but eventually reached the master level on Reiki Usui which allows me to teach and attune others.
So, what is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that works with universal life energy—the same current that flows through nature, our breath, and every living being. Practitioners act as channels, allowing this energy to flow through their hands to support balance, relaxation, and self-healing. Many describe it as warmth, tingling, or simply a sense of being held by something greater.
Reiki works on the energy body, which is deeply connected to our physical well-being. Emotions and thoughts, when not felt or processed, can accumulate. Over time, they condense, creating blockages that may eventually manifest as physical or emotional discomfort, and sometimes even illness. By restoring flow and harmony at the energetic level, Reiki helps us release stagnant patterns before they take root in the body.
Reiki and the Chakras
One of the ways Reiki supports balance is by working through the chakras, the main energy centers in the body. Each chakra is connected to specific emotions, thoughts, and areas of our physical body. When energy flows freely through them, we feel more aligned, present, and vibrant.
Here’s a simple overview:
Root Chakra (base of spine): safety, grounding, stability
Sacral Chakra (lower belly): creativity, emotions, pleasure
Solar Plexus (upper belly): confidence, personal power, self-worth
Heart Chakra (center of chest): love, compassion, relationships
Throat Chakra (throat): communication, truth, expression
Third Eye (forehead): intuition, clarity, vision
Crown Chakra (top of head): connection to spirit, higher wisdom
During a transmission, Reiki naturally flows to the places where balance is needed—sometimes an area of the body may feel warm, tingling, heavy, or spacious as the energy clears. Some people are more sensitive then others, so the experience varies. Even if you don’t feel anything, it’s still there working. For me, this process feels like inner housekeeping: the chakras release what they no longer need and open to receive fresh vitality.
How I infuse Reiki into my practice
When people come to me for Akashic Records readings, I often pair the session with Reiki. Sometimes, the guides point out energetic imbalances that are ready to be released or harmonized.
I also love to use Reiki with the plants I work with. When I prepare herbal baths or flower essences, I channel Reiki to “supercharge” the herbs and flowers, highlighting their natural healing properties.
On my day to day, I work with Reiki to clean my space, to help my family and to boost our plants and food with healing energy.
For me, Reiki isn’t a separate practice but it’s part of my toolbox. Whether I’m in meditation, holding space in the Records, or working with the plants, Reiki flows as a quiet but powerful ally.
Healing is not something we chase, it’s something we allow. If you’re ready to experience this for yourself, I invite you to book a session with me here.
With love,
Manu
